Staub Cast Iron Pots and Pans
Staub cast Iron Cocotte’s have perfected this tradition in our signature “La Cocotte” (co-cot) French Oven, the choice of some of the world’s best chefs. This Cast Iron French oven is designed by Francis Staub and is a timeless standby for stews, roasts, soups and casseroles, whilst also being very attractive and functional. The Staub Cocottes can be used in an oven, where it requires significantly less heat than any other cookware, as cast iron spreads the heat evenly as well as retaining it. It also benefits from a special, smooth, ceramic underside, so it can also be used on any hob or stove top, and has an ovenproof stainless steel or brass knob, which can take temperatures of up to 500°F/260°C. This attractive cast iron Cocotte moves beautifully from the stove to your guests at the table, and will even retain the heat and moisture, due to a tight fitting on the lid, to keep your food warm at the table. On the underside of the Cocotte lid, there are evenly spread unique spikes, which help distribute juices, allowing a continuous natural basting process, giving you moist, evenly cooked and tender meat. On the inside of the Staub Cocotte, is a black matte enamel interior, and so, the oil you use when cooking, will penetrate the pores of the matte enamel and create a natural, smooth non-stick surface. This also ensures that seasoning is not required and it makes it highly durable, resistant to chipping, and doesn’t rust or discolour.
