The John Boos kitchen trolley range is probably the most solid and substantial of any butchers blocks designed for domestic use on the market. Made in the USA, the Homestead Range of butchers blocks are made from the very finest quality materials. These kitchen trolleys have a top made from solid natural maple wood that is 12.7cm thick. They have a seamlessly constructed drawer for utensils, and this together with the slatted lower shelf, offers really useful storage space.
John Boos originated in Illinois in the USA in 1887 as a blacksmiths shop. One of the customers of the blacksmiths was a local butcher. He admired the solid wooden anvil support that the blacksmith had made and asked him if he could make him something similarly substantial as a butchers block for his shop – and the rest is history.
